From Couch to Chaos (and the Dream of a Warehouse)
Share
As a small business, we're masters of maximizing space – because we don't have much of it! As some of you may know from previous posts, this whole venture started from a simple idea hatched on a couch during the pandemic. Not a warehouse couch, mind you, a living room couch. From those humble beginnings, the business blossomed (or perhaps, sprawled) into our garage and backyard.
Our cutting services have since expanded to include some fantastic off-site resources, and to keep up with demand, we've had to acquire extra storage space. This is fantastic news – it means we’re growing! But it also means we're spread incredibly thin.
Imagine this: a simple order comes in. This often translates to a car trip to our storage unit (where everything is meticulously organized, of course), retrieving the necessary items, then driving back to HQ for finishing touches, packaging, and finally, shipping. It’s a lot of back and forth, and let's just say, it's not the most efficient system. And don’t even get me started on the fact that we're still making our own trips to the post office – no daily mail truck visits for us just yet!
We’re calling it a “growing pain,” but it’s a pain nonetheless. Our big dream? A warehouse. A space where we can consolidate all our operations, expand our capacity, and truly unleash our potential. We have big plans and high hopes, and we're working hard to make them a reality.
We envision a large, well-organized workspace with safe pathways and a professional environment that both customers and staff can enjoy. After all, shouldn't work be enjoyable? We want to create a space that fosters creativity and productivity.
Right now, we're experiencing purely organic growth, without any outside funding. It's a slower path, for sure, but it allows us to prove our viability as a business. That being said, if a supportive investor were to come along and offer to help us reach that next level? We’d definitely be open to the conversation. Just putting it out there!
Thank you for following along on our journey. It’s been an incredibly rewarding experience so far, and we’re excited to share the future rewards with more people as we continue to grow.
