My Pinterest Journey: A Daunting but Necessary Step
Share
I previously wrote about my foray into Pinterest to promote my YUP CRAFTS. As I mentioned, crafting is inherently tactile – the joy lies in the hands-on experience. But to even get to that point, I need to raise awareness of YUP CRAFTS, and that means embracing the digital realm.
Pinterest, however, has proven to be more challenging than I anticipated. Creating compelling content requires effort: eye-catching images, engaging descriptions, and thoughtful layouts. Canva has become my lifesaver, allowing me to easily combine images of my Baltic Birch donut rings with the YUP CRAFTS logo and a concise description.
One crucial lesson I've learned is that each platform demands a unique visual approach. A Pinterest-optimized image won't necessarily translate well to Facebook or Instagram. This requires me to create platform-specific visuals, which can be time-consuming.
To streamline this process, I've started using HootSuite (no sponsorships here, just me paying the bills!). With a free trial, I've scheduled a week's worth of posts across different platforms. I understand that success won't happen overnight, but even small results will keep me motivated on this journey.
My goal is not to become a social media guru, but to share my passion for crafting and use the profits to make a positive impact. Let's see how this experiment unfolds!
